I think the fans need to come on when the heads on the motor get to a certain temp. Common knowledge that engine (head area) needs to be about 200 to make good power and under 240 to keep from doing damage, so the fans should come on when the engine itself gets above that tempature and give extra cooling to the water which inturns cools the motor. my truck cycles perfect, fans kick on when the motor gets up to 205 and cuts off when it cools back down to 185 (think)
