Do you still have the compressor ? I think my system is low on R-12. I've got the 81 K5 with 305 4spd. Looks like the exact aftermarket setup. I bought the truck last fall and the guy gave me 2 cans of R-12 and said it takes a can a summer.
Can you check shipping to 35749.
Sounds like you ran the system with R-134a.
