Have you thought of putting the sound deadener inside the door... I have 3 or 4 12"x20" sheets of it installed on the outer and inner skin of my door on the inside the cavity. They close with a completely dead thud. Worked great for me and it's completely out of view.

I'm going to be putting the deadener inside and outside of the door. I want to cover the bottom section for insulation reasons as well... Of course the hole I found in the passenger side in the cab corner isn't helping with that.... I can stick my fist through it with room to spare. It's not rust either, looks like someone cut it out intentionally... No clue why. Hoping to fix that soon.
