A few steps backwards and a few forward.
First the backward
Engine has major damage to the pistons, all eight have the ring landings shattered. Debris down the cylinders scored the cylinder walls. Total tear down and back to the machine shop.
Machinist told me it was caused by old gas which caused predetonation which caused extreme cylinder pressure that busted the pistons. All in only 8 miles on the engine.
Now the forward.
Got the new carpet and installed it. I like the loop style. Found another center console and installed it and the CD changer under it. Removed the dash cluster and installing the Auto meter gauges into it. Removed the gauge trim rings and glass and using the original lens to mount to.
Pulled the rearend cover and checked the lash and backlash. Good setting, and found it has 4.11 ratio.
