Wife and I are having the same pangs of regret. We realize we'll need to leave the farm, and get in town some day. Not because of the kids, but age. Been house shopping, but each time we find something she likes and little shop in back yard, we get cold feet and back out.
With a commute as far as yours, I admire you for rearranging your priorities for the sake of your family. I'm sure it's a hard decision, but a good one.
