my burb has a 6in rear and its about 1 and 3/4 away from the frame it bottoms out but not too much at all only on big potholes or if you go fast over bumps.
the roads out here suck for lowered trucks! but i plan to notch it it rides alot better with a load it preloads the rear spring and actually doesn't bottom out as much. you could do the bolt in relatively easy with the body on just need a good drill and a sawzall or a plasma ?
the blazer might be a better candidate for the 6 because of the weight ?
