When i got my truck, someone had already made an extended rod. A piece of all thread. Then a nut with a piece of all thread welded too it. The little stud fits in the carb linkage. It threads down the all thread and locks in place with an nut acting like a lock nut. Luckily you can't see any of that with the air cleaner over it. I did, lengthen the factory tab at the fire wall, that connects to the extended rod. I added about an inch to it. It made the gas pedal action in the cab closeer to the floor. Otherwise, if you wanted to carb to hit full throttle, the gas pedal would sit way off the floor. Very uncomfortable on the foot.
