Re: Blueprint Engines 383 Stroker Crate Motor

Big-blue: Extra leads are for headlight relays, electric fan relays, 4 gauge amplifier lead, stereo hot lead so it gets a full 12v from battery once on, lead to stock distribution block/fuse panel and the starter lead....

Johns72c10: The are scosche battery terminals, and lots of places are finally starting to carry them now including Sears?!?

VA72c10: I still haven't sprayed under the cab yet, but mine is more of a "cab on" conversion and am just spraying my way around as I go, it will just be paint underneath the cab, although I should think about undercoating

Austx68: I have only had mine running twice, once for the 20 minute 2000-2500rpm "after dyno break in" (which makes no sense to me) and another time to bring things up to temp and listen to the exhaust after I clamped it up for the first time. Mine does have that lumpy shake as well, and it makes me worried that the timing is off; but anything lower than 14degrees at idle and it just gets worse so I think that it is just the cam and characteristics of the engine. It's funny, I spoke with Marshall/Blueprint about the dizzy coming with the vacuum advance hooked up and they said it would be fine with it attached as long as the advance never got above 34 degrees. Well for one, it idles like crap with it hooked up and two, it wants to hit nearly 50 degrees with it hooked up which isn't good!! So why does it come hooked up? Very odd... So I have left mine unhooked so far, but wish to hook it up at some point for better gas mileage. I still haven't driven this thing as I am currently re-routing the rear brake line(damn headers)but your description of stabbing the throttle and getting tire spin coupled with what I have seen from just blipping the gas on mine makes me think this engine is nothing short of an intense tire roaster!! I just hope I can get above 10mpg with it...we shall see!
