Re: removing steering column

It should come out like mine did in my '69 2wd.

Disconnect it at the rag joint on the steering sector. There's a clamp on the firewall (engine side) of the column. There's 4 bolts, if I remember, holding the column to the bottom side of the dash. Oh, there's an electrical connector between the backside of the dash and the inside of the firewall. I'd do that item, first....so I didn't forget. If you have a column shifter, you'll have to disconnect it, too. If it is an automatic, there will be a "tab" that holds the linkage to the transmission. If it is a manual (3 on the tree), there should be 2 linkages to disconnect.

If anyone sees that I muffed this advice, please chime in and help a bud.
