fat hoe - I did a similar install and hardwired mine into the existing radio. You can purchase the kit from Sirius, and all you do is unplug the stock antenna, plug it into the supplied splitter, and plug the splitter into the antenna connection on the existing radio. There is another plug that goes into the Sirius radio and you set one of the presets on your old radio to the Sirius radio.
No static and its worked perfectly since installed 18 months ago
