If the odometer does not work, but the speedo does, then it is possible that one of the gears jammed in the odometer. Mine did this after sand got into the assembly after sandblasting the floor. You could take it out, blow it off really good with compressed air, and oil it to see if it works again. If not, you might need a new one.
