It looks like you have a good truck to start with and having a family history is always nice to have, thanks for sharing it with us
It’s been quite a few years since I used a military auto hobby shop and each military post has different levels and tools available to use. I don’t know if it still has all the facilities such as steam cleaning, pressure washing, lifts and paint booths at McChord AFB but it might be one way to save a little money and they use to also have people that could give some advice in solving problems. And there’s plenty of people on this forum that will help with answering question or solving problems.
The one thing I might add to your list of upgrades is power brakes, it’s always nice to be able to stop that 454 when required (smile)
