I hate to say it since you already spent $$$ and time, but it's easier to use a 3/4T booster since it sits slightly closer to the firewall. However, your air cleaner would still hit it too. Only thing you can do is replace your air cleaner with a smaller aftermarket one. Good luck finding one that'll fit on a 1bbl carb hole. As a last resort you could cut up a jy air cleaner to a smaller size and buy an appropriate sized air cleaner. I've done that before when I had my L6.

Oh, any chance you could post detailed pics of your AC compressor brackets and compressor?
