Geoff, at the time I bought the motor the 5.3's were about $1000 cheaper than the 6.0s. I've made up for the HP difference with the supercharger,
. Plus, my wife's 03 Suburban has a 5.3 and and weighs about 1500 pounds more. I have been very impressed with the way it performs.
