tach question

OK....my tach is way off according to the computer.

I'm thinking a tach is either good or bad, but maybe there is something I don't know?

Can a tach be hooked up incorrectly and still give a reading?

It reads quite a bit higher RPM than I am doing.

So.....if I have to replace it I've read about a Camaro tach swap.

What year Camaro tach swaps without any customization?

If I have to change tachs, I might as well get one that reads higher than 5,000 rpm.
