They do tend to act funny with age. There are services that restore factory tachs. I've done this before on muscle cars. I do like the factory look, but the tachs for these trucks stop at 5,000 rpms which does me no good.
I thought about checking into the service to see if they can recalibrate the tach with a new face and higher rpms just to keep that factory look. Until then I just run aftermarket. Something to think about.
