You do have to take the box off the truck to change that seal. You actually have to take the box all the way apart to replace it. I did mine this past winter with a $10 seal kit and somehow, I didn't get it fixed because it still leaks. It is a pain to put back together, I used some online how-to's. All I can say is good luck, or try to find a junk-yard box that isn't leaking. You may have better luck than me.
