Too much timing and nitrous leads to melted pistons but just to get that 12.xx timeslip on motor without nitrous its worth a shot. It doesnt cost anything to advance the timing 2 degrees or so. When I run on just the motor my timing is at 35 to 36 deg total .With the 150 jets in the plate I run at 30 deg total. with 110 octane. I like it on the safe side.. Last year I moved the timing up to 38 deg but it didnt seem to make a difference
