I love my Herc! They are a lot like old Chevy trucks. They might break down every once in a while but they're fun to drive and always get the job done!
In Afghanistan and in Iraq we amazed a lot of people by our capabilities and flexibility. We left Cherry Point about 20 hours after getting the call to go and were running missions into northern Iraq in about 48 hours. The airforce wouldn't go near some of the places we were going into. One of our sister squadrons were landing planes on a section of Iraqi highway so they could offload gas for all those vehicles heading to Baghdad.
All in all it was a good time and a chance to flex our muscle.
