Hi Steve,
You can blast, prime and paint the bolts with Krylon 1403 Dull Aluminum. I use the same paint on the base (bolt flange) part of the center caps too ... it's a pretty close match to the original.
Totally Stainless (
www.totallystainless.com) offers some indented hex washer head bolts that look very similar to the originals. They don't have the screwdriver slot like some of the originals had though. The closest size they offer is 5/16"-18 x 3/4" (part number 2-0991). I think these might have to be shortened a little. The originals are 5/8" long if I remember correctly.
Or, if original appearance isn't a concern, you could use some regular hex head bolts.
I think the original lug nuts had a thin decorative stainless steel cap/shell over them. Possibly still available from GM. Or you can buy some aftermarket chrome "acorn" lug nuts that look quite similar.
You're right, regular lug nuts would look rather ugly on these wheels. Plus, leaving regular open ended lug nuts exposed to the weather (not covered by a hubcap or anything) often leads to rusty wheel studs & nuts.
