Okay? I am a bit puzzled here though. How could an old filter cause it to dump big loads of fuel into the motor? I don't profess to know that much about diesels but it seams contrary to the nature of physics that a restricted (old and dirty) filter could flow more fuel.

I was told this Project had a L-72 427 425HP, It did not.
It does have a 427 block and parts from various 427 motors. It will end up with a nice strong 454 in the end.
It has not been run for 20+ years
