Re: Doing the Brakes
There is a bolt on the caliper bracket that holds down a shim, take it out and tap the shim out the front of the caliper. this will free the caliper up so that it can be lifted out from the bracket.
In order to replase the (Disc) rotor you have to remove the lockout, on a Warns allen head screws are used to hold the cap in place. After you remove the cap there is a retainer ring around the outside of the hub, this needs removed also. If the lockout was installed properly then there should be a snap-ring holdin the lockout to the axle shaft, remove it. Screw one or two of the allen bolts back in and wiggle the lockout around while pulling it should pop out, now remove the spring if there is one.
Now the spindle nuts need removed, this requires a special socket with 6 prongs on it and can be picked up at any auto store. Remove the first nut followed by a washer with holes in it then the second nut, make sure you remember what way they came out there is a nub on the nut that fits inside the holes on the washer. With both nuts removed the hub can now be removed, this is a good time to check your bearings and races and replace if needed. Now that the hub is on the ground yuo have to beat the studs out. Use a hammer and punch or a lead hammer, if neither are avalible screw the lugnut back on a couple of threads and beat on it. Once the studs are out the (Disc) rotor will be free or the hub. Flip the hub over put the new rotor on and beat the studs back in.
Do Everything in reverse and repeat for the other side.
Have fun!
