sometimes i'm an idiot.....
i put the yellow wire on the neg instead of the pos terminal on the coil and so was having trouble trying to figure why the timing light wasn't flashing. well, fill up the exhaust pipe with unburned fuel and then get the wires right and BANG like a cannon going off. it blew a hole through the back of the muffler (ripped it half off is more exact). i was planning to get a nice exhaust eventually but the stock style setup was in great shape. i should be able to just swap the muffler out but arghhhhh......
it still won't start so i'm thinking there is more troubleshooting to do. a friend of my dad's has more experience with carb tuning than he or i so hopefully they will be able to figure it out for me this week while i'm at work (its great having retiree's to help out).
i am better at changing things.....bolting and unbolting, not tuning or hard core troubleshooting.
