If you have a tap and die set, go buy some rod at the hardware or steel supply and copy what you have. Linkage rods are fairly easy to make.

You could also remove your exsisting rod and thread it, then attach an extension with a coupling nut.

I recently found balljoint assemblies at the local hardware store and made my throttle shaft using them. Here's a pic of the carb end attached to the throttle linkage.
