Re: Torchered

Anyone ever buy a part to remedy a problem and have it create more problems. Well the Porterbuilt front Drop member has done just that. I have never read on there site or was I told when talking to them that you need a tall tranny tunnel or that a double drivline with a carrier bearring may need to be used. Or that any other trailling arm crossmember will need to modified to fit this carrier bearring. Perhaps these items should be noted on there website under the item.
Any way I luckily have a tall tranny tunnel and since im not planning on dropping the truck to the ground, modifying the CPP trailing arm crossmember loop to clear the driveline probably wont need to be done. As Nathan from Porterbuilt said you just have to see how it goes and solve any issues as they arrise.
Oh Id still buy the Crossmember, I would have rather liked to know that I had to chop the floor or cut a new crossmember before I had already finished them. Its only a shop truck you know. Wink wink.
