Your painter is right. I worked for a windshield replacement shop one summer. We had to change a busted up windshield on a Camaro that had just been repainted with a really nice candy red. The owner of our shop said that we weren't responsible for the paint since it should have been changed out before the paint was done. As he was cutting the urethane around the glass, the blade broke and put a 4" gash through the paint and into the metal. The damage was brutal to look at on such a nice paint job. It was dead center on the windshield at the top, right in the line of vision. House Of Color Kandy paint was about $1200 a gallon and this was in 1990. When we left the dude was flipping out....
