Re: how to get your motor ready for paint

you can't do one side at a time..IT NEEDS TO BE STUPID CLEAN or your wasting your time and $$$...

I sprayed mine with Castrol Super clean let it set for a bit while you poke away at the bad spot with a putty knife and a wire brush...wear gloves (I work construction so my paws are pretty tough ..but not that tough) I did it 2 or 3 times like that it will get it very clean...then let it dry....the next day wire brush as much as you can then hit it with a can of oven cleaner and let it sit for an hour the acid will remove whats left and rinse with soap and lots of water...let it dry inspect it for anything you missed.....what works well is a quick coat of primer it makes everything show up...attack it again with every othe tool just be sure they are grease free before you go pokeing your clean block... just be sure to give it a good coat of primer if you don't like how it looks then you not going to like it with paint.......

I have the news pan painted and ready to put on when I hoist it into the truck...the paint is wrinkle black with silver wheel paint on the covers (chrome Caddy vavle covers are expencive)I also have added yellow accel plug wires.....the pics do not do it justice
