That question is too vague. Too many different kinds of "racing", I assume you mean a 4000# drag racer? What kind of gear? What kind of wheel? What kind of power?

The Dana 60 is a very strong rear found in many 9 second drag cars. They convert to flanged axles from full floaters and a 5 lug car pattern. In GMC trucks, there are some 67-68 1/2 tonners that had a 6 lug flanged axle (semi-floater).

It is also popular in rock-crawlers for its strength.
