Re: Alternator Bracket for SBC with headers

I have used the "step bracket" sold by mr gasket that mounts to the front header tube bolts and the "u" bracket that the sell to get the pivot point for the bottom of the alt. and the 66-68 chrome 327 solid bracket they sell to get the upper slider. It works ok. My 68 had a homemade setup that used the original brackets coupled with a strap made from a piece of steel that bolted to the block at the location of the power steering mount. Luckily it did not mess up the original bracket and it worked ok, but not pretty. I did not take pictures it was that bad, go with the mr gasket stuff and you should be ok.
