not sure if someone mentioned it but the floor/def air valve in my 88 sub had three places to put the rod in ,more floor or more def or equal to both.
(the pic)My clip that broke was this one on the front,you have to remove the other air tube over this to see it.
But check the cables shown(arrows) for bends
