I hate fighting with some that sheetmetal you are talking about. Most times I would rather fix an oem fender or door than fight with the foreign crap.

Right on about the transformation. It is no where near the quality and budget of a bunch of the builds on here (like yours) but hopefully with him having some "sweat equity" in it he will learn value of what can be done with your hands and might actually learn a little about wrenching.
