I ran out to the tag office to get my title in my name today.
What an ordeal that was. In Ga you don't need a title if it is before 1986 and they will not even issue you a title if it is a 1962 or older (does not make sense ) even if you have a title.
I bought the truck from out of state that may have been why I had to have the vin verified, so you have a police officer come out and verify your vin (no change for this service) once it has been verified good, not stolen etc you make another trip to the tag office and then fork over some cash for title & ad valorem tax so I don't know if it was a good idea to go through this mess now since I'll have to pay taxes on it from now on but it is not much, at least now I know that it is not stolen
so I can continue with my build with the knowledge it is clean.
