Pull the drain plug and let drain for about 15 min.. Repalce the drain plug. Remove the fill level plug (usually about half way up on the casting) and add lubricant through the level hole until it seeps from the level hole. Replace fill plug. It's not a little bit harder, it's much easier.

A good service manual will tell you this and more. Well worth it's price.
Thanks for the info, I've already changed the rearend fluid so how much do you think I'd need for just the tranny?
