alright so i normally scrap collect on the side since i only get paid once a month. i normally use my astro van. It cant hold as much as a truck though and when its got weight the braking power isnt very good. I got it to replace my 2002 silverado when i wrecked it. for $300 it was a steal since it only needed a tune up and timing to get running. So i was thinking of getting a trailer to make up for the space but if it cant stop with weight id hate to think of the weight plus the trailer.

so ive been looking through craigs for a cheap beater truck. Dont have to be pretty as long as it can do its job. I really like the way the older trucks look compared to the newer versions so i decided for something from 73-87's.
My bro has 2 74's and they look pretty nice to me.

ok well the questions. What kind of things should i look for. 3/4 ton, dually etc? id like to be able to tow and pull things if that opportunity came up.
ive mostly been looken for cheap + longbeds.ive seen a couple but the price isnt right for me atm.

there was an 87 for $800 but the freezeplugs were bad.
some guy had an 85 that wanted 800 for it and it was backtagged more then that amount.

any recommendations from you guys that use these year model trucks? what should i check and look for etc. or maybe you have one in my price range your getting rid of.

i may end up just having to save, save, save and save since my stuff on craigs wont sell.

oh another question. my bro has one truck thats backtagged like 10 years, say if i wanted it, would there be a good way around that? thanks
