Just drove the '68 home from the engine shop. The thrust bearing went out on the engine. I put the wrong throw out bearing in it and the engine guy said that was the cause of the failure. From what I have found out, that is possible- very unlikely, but possible on an engine with only a few hours on it. So bottom line is "possible" means I had to give the guy who did the shortblock the benefit of the doubt and pick up the tab for the repair.

it started right up. It's an old starter and from what I read sounds like a mini hi torque starter may be a good idea. It's for a 383 stroker. Any thoughts, or known drawbacks with these mini starters? Was looking at
