The rebuild kits come with fairly good instructions too. It isn't that hard, just time consuming. My father learned how to rebuild them from the instructions and was rebuilding them at his parts store for several years. He realized that he was spending more time rebuilding them than he was charging so he stopped doing it. Check out some books like new69owner suggested and see if you want to take it on or not.
