Well, I guess on the plus side there isn't much I can do to this truck that could make the mileage worse, huh? I have been staying real close to 55mph, and I don't see much traffic since I drive in the middle of the night...
I think I'm going to put the tires from my C30 on it for a few days and see how it goes...I don't need tires that big. The 33s have a pretty agressive tread too, it would probably ride alot better with different tires.
Do you guys think having an overdrive trans would make much of a difference? I've always wanted to put one in one of these trucks...but then again I think of how much gas I could just buy instead. 2300 highway RPM doesn't seem too bad...
Now I'm wondering why GM ever put a six or a 305 in these trucks...if the 350 can barely do it. I do have to give it quite a bit of gas to get going, it doesn't feel like it has a lot of power. Guess I'll have to do something about that.

The aggressive tires will hurt you, I went from BFG's to a set of mudders and it cost me 1-2 mpg depending on how I drove. You should have enough engine to get up and going without having to push too far on the gas, maybe something else is going on?
