Re: My Slap-my-hand-to-my-forehead 68 fixer-upper

Threw some baby moons onto the rig over the weekend, $50 from a local place (Hubcap World in Portland). They also had dog dishes, but I've wanted baby moons for ages.

I had a Pertronix ignition, but it went tango uniform. Warranty covered it, and the mechanic put in a HE ignition. Boy do I have spark! The rubber grommet around my horn is as dry as the Sahara, so I need a new ring. Otherwise my horn button comes off, or if the button is mashed on, causes the horn to blow at the wrong moments--last night, on a rural road near 2 farmhouses. "Mind if I wake your dogs, sir?"

Oh, yeah, the turn signal died, and the radiator began leaking. One switch and a soldering job later, and we're good.

Needs arms for the floor air vents, need to fix the seat lever adjustment, and . . . .

I've thought about adding a coolant recovery tank. Any thoughts?

Thanks, and here's a photo of what has taken way more money than the pickup ever did.
