The POR-15 paint itself does go on smooth and glossy without any brush strokes showing.
The topcoat ChassisCoat, however, does leave brush marks. I found that out, too, when I was painting the rear of my frame. I decided to only use the ChassisCoat only on those parts of the frame that might see sunlight; top and outside of rail and front frame horns especially.
They say the POR-15 will turn color eventually if exposed to sun unless you topcoat with the ChassisCoat or regular paint.
