don't use WD-40 on rubber seals it causes them to deteriate to lubricate a rubber seal it's best to use dishsoap but if it's the original grommet it will probably need to be cut off if it's all hard and cracked , if it's not cracked and hard hot water and the soap should loosen it up enough to pry it out of the hole and off the filler neck . DO NOT START HITTING THE FILLER NECK WITH A HAMMER!!!!
