Yea... It thought u-joints too... but here is a little history... I had the inline 6 with 3 on the tree.... It made the noise that I described, but really bad (because obviously, I spent more time in neutral)... well I put in that Olds 455 with a TH400 tranny.... so, since it's an auto, it's always in gear..... When I did the swap, I put in new ujoints..... It does sound/feel like bearings, but it doesn't do it while in gear.... or I should say, when there is resistance on the drivetrain.... very strange......
