Re: 47 1/2 ton gas tank placement

On a '47 the tank was on the passenger frame rail under the bed and in front of the rear axle. The filler neck came out of box side just below the bed floor. GM started putting gas tanks in the cab in '49. There is a guy on the board building a '48 and his build thread has pics of the filler neck location. I also have a '48, but it's on an S10 chassis, so I'm flipping the filler next to the driver's side where the S10 tank is located.
