I stuck a 9" under my old 87... I had a built 496, built th400 and had a shop build the 9"... wasnt cheap either... probally had 1200 in it when it was done w/o axles... stock axles stock ford pattern  Re located the shocks and new spring perches and u-joints that fit and I was golden.
