The bottom speakers are 8" midbass units mounted into a fixture made of medite wood. The carpeted part going to the back of the back end of the door is a1/4" thick piece that copies the factory trim carpeted pieces. To that piece, I glued 3/4" thick medite pieces stacked together to make the full speaker housing form. The pieces that are glued together are hollowed out to give the room for the speaker and airspace to function. The speaker is also ported into the door for more space to operate. The whole assembly is mounted to the door with screws that are painted to match and is very solid. I formed the outside to get the contours and then hollowed the inside to make sure that it was not to thin in any one place. I sealed the whole thing with fiberglass resin and then carpeted it.
