I think 4x4 leafs are 2.5 inch... 1/4 inch wider than the 2x4 leafs, but the mounts and pads should be the same width center to center.. I think he is measuring between the pads which makes sense because he is about 2.5 inches shorter than you...roughly half a 2.5 inch leaf on each side...
