Yeah its a handy spot to put a foot also.

I just tossed the one out of my 86 the other day, and aimed the line downward. If I were to try and fix it proper like, and had a few dollars to blow, I would probably run the vent tube over to a small K&N style vent filter, and mount it hanging downward on the inside of the fender support bracing, to shield it from water, and tuck it away.

The being said, Im having vent issues at the moment, but I'm sure it existed before I removed the canister, as I haven't plugged anything. Its not really a problem that's concerning me though, the fuel cap may not be vented.

In all actuality, now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder why a person couldn't just plug the line up front, and run a vented cap.
