The two best guidelines I can think of are
1.Follow the Golden rule(Treat people the way you want to be treated)
2.Follow Moms rule(If you don't have something nice to say...... don't say nuttin'"
Keep in mind that different people are offended by different things.For instance I once knew a guy who was big into porn and vocal about it.He was very offended by seeing someone smoke a ciggarette.Also,don't take stuff to personally,most of us are like guys,we give each other a good natured hard time as a matter of course.If some of these guys weren't that way I would think they were mad at me.
