+2 make sure the tank is empty and have a helper. I did my tank about4 months ago by myself and it had a few more gallons of gas in it than I thought. My back was useless for a month after. The install is not that hard, use soap and a little muscle and the grommet will fall it to place. Did you also get a new sending unit? For some reason the sending unit I got seemed to be too long and would not fit properly into the tank. I had to bend it just a little bit for it to seal right, I think that was actually harder than the grommet.
