Geez, with the combination of tranny whine and old whistling vent windows, you must be in heaven! LOL
My all orig, unrestored 66 has 1/8 inch white foam very similar to what is used in shipping/packing nowadays. Of course Dynamat and the like is unbeatable, except the cost.
