Re: BBC or SBC with blow thru set up?

Believe me, pick one and go with it, otherwise you're going to be wasting a ton of money. I'm building a turbo 385 right now with a Garrett TV7301 turbo and I can assure you, it isn't for the faint of heart. First you're going to have to find a decent turbo (which can range from $450-$2500). Then the BOV and Wastegate (Plan on spending between $400 and $600). Then the headers and hotside piping ($1000 easy). Then the cold side (can be done for around $400). Now to the motor itself...I just ordered a quick fuel 750 cfm blowthrough and an Aeromotive A1000 with regulator for $1360 which is a good deal if you do any shopping around. And don't forget the bottom end with forged rods, pistons, and crank will be around $2000.

I assume you probably won't pull out all the stops building a turbo motor, but I just don't see the point in building 2 different motors with the intent on running the first one to failure...

If I were you, I'd either:

a) build the 355 with a big turbo (Something with a 1.00 - 1.32 A/R) and stick with it.

or

b) build the big block with a big turbo and stick with it.

Just my $.02
